Kaizer Chiefs offered player to solve their goalkeeping problems!

Kaizer Chiefs are looking to revamp their playing squad ahead of the 2025/26 season which is looming large.

Chiefs will soon jet off to the Netherlands to prepare for what could be a very busy season of fixture congestion.

Chiefs looking to clean housen

There have been quite a few rumours with regards to who Chiefs are targeting. But before those players come in, they’re moving quickly to free up some space. Last week, they announced the departures of academy products Sabelo Radebe and Njabulo Blom. Following that, they have also confirmed the release of striker Ranga Chivaviro. There are other players who find themselves in a similar boat heading into pre-season.

It is thought that the likes of Tebogo Potsane, Mduduzi Mdantsane, George Matlou, Zitha Kwinika and Fiacre Ntwari are next. Ntwari, unlike the others, is under more pressure and scrutiny seeing as though he takes up a foreign space. That then also works against him because his lack of game time will make the club see him as disposable to Chiefs.

Opubo one of the options

It’s also believed that Chiefs have already decided they want to offload Ntwari after just one season at the club. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Nigerian shot-stopper Japhet Opubo could be offered to the Glamour Boys imminently.

“Japhet Opubo is a top goalkeeper who has proven himself in Nigeria over the past few seasons and he could be a good addition at a big club like Kaizer Chiefs, representatives are assessing options for him, and there is a possibility that he can be offered to Chiefs.” Said a source to the publication.

Would he be a good shout?

It now remains to seen if Chiefs will tae Opubo ahead of next season. Amakhosi fans these be a a good decision? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab.
