One of Cape Town’s most cherished weekend traditions is about to enter a new chapter.
The Oranjezicht City Farm Market (OZCF) is officially relocating to a custom-built space at Dock Road and Granger Bay Boulevard at the V&A Waterfront from 6 December 2025.
Oranjezicht Market is making a move
What began 12 years ago as a small neighbourhood initiative beside the Oranjezicht garden has grown into a major community hub, supporting over 100 traders and 3 500 livelihoods, Bizcommunity reports.
The new venue reflects this growth: traders will have upgraded stall designs, and the space now features practical improvements, including running water, ventilation systems, extraction fans, improved accessibility, and dedicated food-prep areas.
Visitors can expect the same vibrant mix of farmers, food artisans, bakers, growers and makers, plus a handful of newcomers.
The popular Cape Town market will also maintain its famously relaxed, family-friendly, and dog-friendly atmosphere, enhanced by wooden pergolas, shaded seating, and the signature woodchip flooring.
For co-owners Sheryl Ozinsky and Caz Friedmann, the move is both sentimental and exciting.
“We’ll miss the old market with all its memories, but this is a chance to make new ones. We dared to rebuild a market that was already working – because we believed it could be better. Every corner, every detail has been considered to serve our traders and community in thoughtful ways, while keeping the heart of what we’ve built together.” Ozinsky said.
The new venue connects directly to the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre via an elevated bridge, is fully wheelchair-accessible, and aims to remain as inclusive as ever.
The move also closes out a memorable decade at Granger Bay, one shaped by farmers, makers and loyal Capetonians who helped transform the market into one of the city’s most-visited attractions.
