Airlink updates Nairobi-Johannesburg flight schedule for 2026

South African travellers will soon benefit from upcoming tweaks that will change the way they fly to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, courtesy of Airlink.

The privately owned regional airline has revealed its plans to introduce an enhanced, daily southbound service from Nairobi to Johannesburg.

Here are all the details you need to know:

According to their website, plans are in the pipeline to launch a daily southbound service from Nairobi to Jozi.

Timed for early morning departures from the East African region, this service ensures that “travellers arrive at the start of the working day and also in time for the morning wave of onward connections from Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport.”

Return flights will take place after lunchtime, giving travellers ample time to travel to Airlink’s Jozi hub during the mid-morning.

WHEN WILL THESE CHANGES COME INTO EFFECT?

If you’re travelling from Johannesburg to Nairobi, return flights under the updated schedule will begin from 28 March 2026 onwards.

You will depart on Flight 4Z 070 from O.R. Tambo International Airport at 13:30 in the afternoon and arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 18:30 in the evening.

For passengers travelling from the East African city to Gauteng’s provincial capital, inbound flights will operate from 29 March 2026 onwards.

You will depart on Flight 4Z 071 from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 6:30 in the morning and arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport at 9:40.

Airlink CEO, de Villiers Engelbrecht, elaborated on the benefits of the adjustments made to this flight schedule:

With our expanded fleet, we’re able to adjust our Nairobi schedule to better serve the needs of business and leisure customers who prioritise convenience and a great choice of connections at both ends of the route.

Nairobi is a key gateway to Kenya and the all-important East African market. Similarly, through Airlink’s Johannesburg hub, customers can connect with our other domestic and regional services as well as long-haul flights provided by our global airline partners.
