The army has sent two boats with rescue teams to assist those in the flooded areas.
“We are monitoring the situation,” BTA reported Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov as saying.
“If the Ministry of Interior makes a request to us, we are ready to send additional forces.”
Heavy rains are forecast for the region in the next 24 hours.
