What is Sky Stream?
Sky Stream is a small, smart box that lets you watch Sky Entertainment and Netflix via Wi-Fi.
Instead of a satellite dish, Sky Stream uses a Sky Stream puck – a small device that connects to your television via the internet, to stream content.
It’s easy to set up and works with many TVs, giving you access to over 150 channels and thousands of shows.
Once you’ve plugged the Sky Stream puck into your TV and followed the onscreen instructions, you’re ready to go – it’s as simple as that.
Plans start at £15 per month on a 24-month contract or £18 per month for a rolling 31-day deal.
It’s perfect for new Sky customers searching for hassle-free streaming without the need for extra equipment or installation.
What is Sky Glass?

Sky Glass is a 4K QLED TV that connects directly to the internet, removing the need for a satellite dish.
The Gen 2 model offers improved picture quality, enhanced audio features, and better software performance compared to the original version.
It’s designed to provide a seamless streaming experience, integrating Sky’s full range of content into one device.
Following its release, our Assistant Technology and Science Editor Jamie Harris put the Gen 2 model to the test.
In his Sky Glass Gen 2 review, he wrote: ”It looks and runs exactly the same as the last Sky Glass.
”And for those unfamiliar with it, I think it’s the cleanest, smoothest TV user interface around, linking together all the possible streaming services in the best way possible.”
Prices start at £699 for the 43-inch model, with options to spread the cost through monthly payments, from £14 per month.
Keep in mind, you’ll still need a Sky subscription to access channels and content.
On the hunt for a more affordable option? Check out Sky Glass Air.
Unlike Sky Q, Sky Glass Air relies on an internet connection to beam TV channels to your home, instead of a satellite dish.
There are three different sizes available, including 43 inches (from £6 a month or a £309 one-time payment), 55 inches (from £10 a month or a £509 one-time payment), and 65 inches (from £13 a month or a £649 one-time payment).
In terms of energy efficiency ratings for Sky Glass, TVs are rated on the A to G scale, depending on the screen size and model.
Specifically, Sky Glass Air models have ratings of F for the 43” and 55” TVs and E for the 65”, while Sky Glass Gen 2 models are rated G for the 43” and E for the 55” and 65” screens.
If you want to learn more, have a read of our Sky Glass TV explainer and make sure to check out our Sky Glass Air review.
Just a few months ago, our Assistant Technology and Science Editor, Jamie Harris, put the Sky Glass Air model through its paces, and he was seriously surprised.
In his review, he explained: ”With a combined cost of at least £21 a month, Sky Glass Air is a tempting offering for anyone in the market for premium telly. And maybe even Sky Q customers.
”The TV itself is a great addition to the Sky Glass family, offering wonderful quality in a much more adaptable form.
”And the sound seriously surprised me – I hardly noticed the lack of a soundbar at all.”
What is Sky Q?
Sky Q is a feature-packed set-top box that offers premium TV viewing.
You can record up to six shows at once, watch Ultra HD content, and use voice search with the Bluetooth remote.
The optional Mini boxes let you stream Sky in multiple rooms.
It’s ideal for households that want flexibility and advanced features.
How much do the Sky Q boxes cost?
Sky Q boxes are included as part of your subscription, so you don’t pay for the box itself.
Plans start at £30 a month on a 24-month contract, with optional extras such as Sky Sports or Sky Cinema available at an additional cost.
There’s also a one-time setup fee of £20, but this can vary.
What is the lowest Sky package?
Sky Stream is the most affordable Sky package, starting at £15 per month.
It includes Sky Entertainment and a basic Netflix plan, with options to add extras like Sky Sports or Sky Cinema.
It’s a cost-effective way to enjoy streaming without a satellite dish.
What channels are on Sky Sports?
Sky Sports offers a range of channels to cover all major sports.
You’ll find Sky Sports Main Event for headline matches, plus dedicated channels like Sky Sports Premier League for football lovers, alongside Sky Sports Cricket, Golf, and F1.
Can I watch BT Sport ESPN on Sky?
Now part of the TNT Sports package, you can generally catch the latest coverage on Sky between channels 400 and 499.
If you’re a Brit who’s a big fan of American sports, Sky is practically a must-have.
Sports like Major League Baseball (MLB) and college league games are readily available to watch.
What channels are on Sky Entertainment?
Sky Entertainment offers a significant number of Sky channels alongside Freeview ones.
Popular choices include Sky Atlantic for HBO shows – a treasure trove of prestige drama like House Of The Dragon, The White Lotus, and Succession.
Other channels include Comedy Central and Gold.
Is Sky cheaper than Virgin?
Currently, Sky Stream starts from just £15 per month, while Virgin’s Bigger Combo bundle, which includes M350 Fibre Broadband and over 200 channels, costs £34.99.
Sky’s comparable Essential TV and 300Mbps Full Fibre Broadband plan is priced at £35 per month.
Virgin may offer faster broadband, but Sky is often the better choice for TV-only packages.
Is Netflix free on Sky?
Netflix Standard with Ads is included with all Sky TV packages.
For HD or Ultra HD, you’ll need to upgrade your plan.
If you already have Netflix, you can link your account to keep your profiles and preferences.
Basically, when you sign up to Sky, it does all the hard work for you behind the scenes, transferring over your old Netflix account.
Is it easy to cancel your Sky?
If you’re considering cancelling, you will need to give Sky 31 days’ notice, which can’t end before your minimum term finishes unless you’re within your cooling-off period.
You should not cancel your direct debit or other payments until you’ve confirmed your cancellation, as further payments may still be due.
Anyone who currently gets their internet service through Sky should definitely read our how to cancel my broadband explainer.
