BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs to sign ex-Sporting and Benfica striker!

Kaizer Chiefs may have finally found the striker they have been looking for in the market if reports are true.

It’s no secret that Chiefs are searching for a top forward who can help them with their goal scoring problems.

Chiefs searching for strikers

Amakhosi have struggled in front of goal for about three to four seasons now with no solution in site. That has since seen coach Nasreddine Nabi become vocal throughout last season about a lack of striking options. Subsequently there have been quite a few attackers linked with Chiefs going into the next season. This as a sign of what they’re trying to fix in the final third. Amakhosi, however, have seen the likes of Fiston Mayele, Etiosa Ighodaro, Robert Polievka mentioned as strikers. In the wingers department Oswin Appollis, Elias Mokwana, Mihlali Mayambela and Keletso Makgalwa have been touted.

As it stands, it is believed they have signed Ighodaro, Asanele Velebayi and Ethan Chislett for their attack. But that is not where they will stop. According to FARPost, Chiefs are now poised to finalise a deal for Flavio Silva

Set to sign Silva

“Kaizer Chiefs look poised to secure the signature of Flavio Silva, a Portuguese striker with roots in Guinea-Bissau. Silva is a product of the Sporting CP youth academy, where he began his footballing journey. He is set to join Amakhosi from the Indonesian Premier League club Persebaya Surabaya, boasting an impressive scoring record. The 1.85m-tall striker made a striking debut in Southeast Asia in January 2023, netting five goals in a single match to lead Persik Kediri to a 5–2 victory over Persikabo 1973.” Wrote the publication.

Good or bad move Amakhosi?

Silva has a record of 39 goals in 78 games while plying his trade in Indonesia. He will now look to test himself in the Betway Premiership with Chiefs. Amakhosi, are you happy with this signing?
