Orlando Pirates remain in the hunt for Jose Riveiro’s successor; however, they have announced the retainment of Mandla Ncikazi, who took over the reins (as interim coach) at the end of last season.
The 56-year-old, who will remain in the team’s technical setup department, managed four games for the Buccaneers, winning once and drawing on three occasions.
“Coach Mandla Ncikazi has served the club well and professionally in the different roles and for that he is valued highly,” a source confirmed.
“Moreover, he has a contract with the club until next year and he is allowed to stay until then. Part of the plans include him continuing to serve in the technical team for next season.”
AmaZulu target
Meanwhile, former target Rowan Human has confirmed that he will not sign a new contract with AmaZulu FC, opening the door for Orlando Pirates.
“AmaZulu FC midfielder Rowan Human has been offered to Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs by his representatives as he is set to leave the club on a free transfer. Human will leave Usuthu at the end of June after his contract expires after the 24-year-old failed to reach an agreement with the club on a new contract,” a source revealed.
“Human has been offered to both Soweto giants by his representatives and it could only be a matter of time before he gets snapped up as he will be a free agent and rediscovered his old form.”
Orlando Pirates tried to sign Human in January, and it appears they will try again this winter.
