BREAKING: SA star snubs overseas clubs for Kaizer Chiefs deal!

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly agreed their fifth transfer of the window, beating strong opposition to secure the player’s signature.

Chiefs have reportedly already added four new players to their pre-season plans, with many more set to follow.

Chiefs looking for attacking reinforcement

Amakhosi have struggled in front of goal for about three to four seasons now with no solution in site. That has since seen coach Nasreddine Nabi become vocal throughout last season about a lack of striking options. Subsequently there have been quite a few attackers linked with Chiefs going into the next season. This as a sign of what they’re trying to fix in the final third. Amakhosi, however, have seen the likes of Fiston Mayele, Etiosa Ighodaro, Robert Polievka mentioned as strikers. In the wingers department Oswin Appollis, Elias Mokwana, Mihlali Mayambela and Keletso Makgalwa have been touted.

Now with only Ighodaro reportedly having joined from the above list, the club seem to be chasing alternatives. According to FARPost, one of those alternatives is overseas-based South African winger Ethan Chislett. The publication reveals that he has penned a two-year deal with Chiefs after becoming a free agent!

“UK-based midfielder Ethan Chislett has opted to join Kaizer Chiefs, turning down offers from overseas clubs, FARPost has been informed. Following his departure from Port Vale, he reportedly attracted the interest of Scottish Premiership outfit Motherwell and EFL League One team Wigan. However, this publication can confirm that the Durban-born playmaker has opted to sign with Chiefs. Chislett has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with the 2025 Nedbank Cup champions, Chiefs, with an option for extension. In a recent interview, the talented midfielder explained that a move back to South Africa aligns with his professional ambitions and personal goals.“ wrote the publication.

Happy with the move Amakhosi?

Last season with Port Vale, Chislett scored four goals and laid on three assists in 25 matches. Chiefs fans, are you happy the 26-year-old snubbed clubs abroad to become a Glamour Boy?
