Cops said she couldn’t even walk when they turned up at her home[/caption]

The 55-year-old got behind the wheel of her blue seven-speed automatic Macan SUV after a night out at Aura cocktail bar, in Wilmslow.

Another driver witnessed her pull over at a local petrol station and noticed she was “unsteady on her feet, stumbling around”.

He followed her at a safe distance and called the police after watching her steering “all over the place”.

When officers arrived at the mum-of-one’s Cheshire home for questioning, she couldn’t even walk and was slumped behind the front door.

Wynn-Griffiths tested nearly three times over the legal limit, which is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, or 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

The businesswoman was hauled before Crewe magistrates court and admitted drink driving.

Wynn-Griffiths told the judge her drink had been spiked with Rohypnol by two men.

She pleaded that she would never knowingly drink and drive as she is the sole carer for her 31-year-old son who has autism and cannot drive himself.

Prosecutor Simon Leong, told the court: “The motorist saw her collapse onto his car causing no damage before getting back on her feet and then unlocked her vehicle which was next to his In attempting to open the car vehicle the boot opened which she did not notice.

“She then went to the driver’s seat and turned the ignition on, and he moved his vehicle away for fear she may drive into him.

”He then followed her describing her as ‘being all over the place’ and driving “over the central white line”.

“He followed at a safe distance and called the police. When the vehicle came to a stop, he saw it parked with the boot still wide open.”

He said when cops arrested Wynn-Griffiths she “was noted to shuffle herself on her knees into the living room”.

The court also heard that despite the defendant making a formal complaint claiming she was spiked, CCTV from Aura showed her going up to the bar at least three times.

In her defence, Wynn-Griffiths claimed two men had approached her and asked if she wanted a drink after her friend left for the night.

The businesswoman said they came back with a tequila shot and she “cannot remember anything after that”.

“I would not be stupid to knowingly get in a car, fully drunk. I know it would affect my son profoundly because he cannot drive,” she added.

“I never get that drunk so I am absolutely positive they put something in my drink”.

The 55-year-old also claimed to feel “sick” and “anxious” while in the police cell, which had never happened to her before.

Her counsel Rob Kellock said: “She has given evidence of feeling extremely poorly, unwell, depressed, a loss of memory, anxious, all of which the defendant respectfully submits would be consistent with someone having some form of date rape type drug.

“It is a very different scenario to someone knowingly, brazenly,  drinking  vast amounts of alcohol and choosing to get behind the wheel of the car.  She is horrified at what she saw.

But upon sentencing, JP Helen Jarman told Wynn-Griffiths: “We do not find your version of events credible.”

Wynn-Griffiths was fined £876, as well as £462 in surcharge, and handed a 26-month driving ban.
