Claudia Winkleman reveals shock moment that halted Celeb Traitors filming & fear about stars’ first gruelling challenge

CLAUDIA Winkleman was so nervous on The Celebrity Traitors that her loud heartbeat held up filming.

She was shooting the scene where she turns around in dramatic fashion to introduce herself to stars like Sir Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross.

Claudia says she feared the celebs would refuse to get stuck in to the challenges[/caption]

Claudia, 53, said: “I was so nervous as I had my back to them, I mean all of us were just in awe that they had said yes (to taking part).

“To turn around in the Scottish Highlands and they were just going to be there.”

But then the director communicated via her earpiece.

Claudia said: “In my ear, they said. ‘You can’t start yet’.

“I said, ‘Why?!’ and they said, ‘We can hear your heart-beat’. I just couldn’t believe it.”

Claudia said she was amazed the celebs, who also include Alan Carr, Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church and Kate Garraway, had agreed to take part in the first place and feared they would refuse to get stuck in to the challenges.

She said: “They’re all at the top of their game and national treasures and we said, ‘They probably won’t do it’. I mean that in the nicest possible way.

“They might have turned round and gone, ‘No, it’s all right!’ But then they did it — and they really played the game.

“There wasn’t one of them who was like, ‘I’m going to stand back’. They wanted to play the game — and they all played it brilliantly.”

The BBC One show starts tonight with a 70-minute episode at 9pm, when the celebs — playing to win £100,000 for charity — will be seen arriving at Ardross Castle.
