Gauteng will experience clear weather conditions this Friday, 29 August, with forecasters predicting stable skies over most areas. However, residents are advised to remain alert as isolated thunderstorms remain possible in certain regions.
“Tomorrow it’s going to be a clear day across Gauteng, with only minimal chances of scattered showers,” said Mpho Rasimphi, a forecaster.
Despite the fair conditions, temperatures are expected to vary significantly. Cooler conditions will prevail overnight, while parts of the province should experience warmer daytime highs heading into the weekend.
Isolated storm weather brings localised risks
Although Gauteng is forecast to avoid widespread rain, isolated thunderstorms in surrounding provinces may still pose risks for residents travelling. Strong winds, lightning, and small hail are possible.
“We have issued a level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms in nearby areas, with strong winds, hail, and lightning expected,” explained Rasimphi.
“Residents should take note of potential travel disruptions.”
Temperature Swings Across the Province
Gauteng will see moderate temperatures overnight, with cooler conditions in low-lying areas. Daytime highs, however, are set to reach into the upper 20s.
Rasimphi noted: “It is going to be a relatively cool night over most of the country, but Gauteng will warm up quickly during the day.”
With clear skies expected, residents can anticipate pleasant conditions, though the possibility of sudden changes requires attentiveness.
Do you think Gauteng’s clearer weather will bring relief?
