KwaZulu-Natal’s coastal areas, including Durban and Richards Bay, woke up to cloudy skies and drizzle. Minimum temperatures hovered in the mid-teens, while Durban began at 16°C.
“It is mostly cloudy this morning for the KwaZulu-Natal coastal areas with light rain and drizzle,” said Joel Guy, a forecaster.
Sunshine Expected Later
The wet and cloudy conditions will not last the entire day. Forecasters predict improving weather with clearing skies by the afternoon.
“It is going to become dry as we head towards the afternoon hours, with the skies also clearing,” Guy explained.
Durban is expected to warm to 24°C, with significantly higher temperatures reaching the upper 20s and lower 30s in the northeastern interior.
Stable Conditions Ahead
Beyond today, KZN residents can look forward to settled weather patterns. The province is expected to avoid major disruptions with clearer skies and warmer conditions.
“Much warmer conditions are expected for the northeastern parts, with settled weather overall,” Guy said. Residents are encouraged to enjoy the outdoors as the weather transitions from wet to warm.
After a cool, damp start, KwaZulu-Natal is set for a warmer and brighter afternoon. Do you prefer the morning chill or the afternoon sun?
