According to forecaster Mpho Rasimphi, the province will remain under widespread cloud cover for most of Friday.
“We’re expecting cloudy skies over Gauteng, with light rain possible in some areas,” said Rasimphi. He added that temperatures would remain mild throughout the day, offering a short break from the recent heat.
Cooler start and comfortable afternoon in Gauteng
Residents in Johannesburg and Pretoria can expect a cool morning, with minimum temperatures dropping to around 13°C and reaching highs of about 25°C.
“Tomorrow will be a relatively mild day, especially over the Highveld,” Rasimphi explained.
“We don’t expect thunderstorm activity, but light showers may develop later in the afternoon.”
Stable weather before the weekend
The South African Weather Service expects no prominent warnings for Gauteng on Friday, with conditions expected to remain stable. Rasimphi noted that while rainfall would be minimal, motorists should still drive carefully due to the presence of wet patches on some roads.
“It’s going to be a calm weather day for most of Gauteng,” he said.
“Residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions continuing into the weekend.”
