Cloudy and wet conditions expected in KwaZulu-Natal

KwaZulu-Natal residents woke up to cloudy skies and drizzle this Thursday. Durban will peak at just 19°C, with similar wet conditions across Pietermaritzburg.

Forecaster Joel Guy explained, “We are already starting off with cloudy skies with light rain and drizzle in some areas around KwaZulu-Natal.”

Warning for disruptive heavy rain in parts of KwaZulu-Natal

The northeastern areas of KwaZulu-Natal face the highest risk of disruptive heavy rainfall. Authorities urge residents to remain alert, especially in flood-prone communities.

Guy cautioned, “Possible disruptive heavy rains are expected for the northeastern areas of KwaZulu-Natal. Be careful if you find yourselves in those parts of the country.”

The system moving inland is likely to intensify thunderstorms through the afternoon, raising risks of local flooding.

Temperatures drop as rain persists

Temperatures across the province will remain on the lower side compared to recent days. Durban will not rise beyond 19°C, while other inland areas will struggle to reach the mid-teens.

Guy noted, “It will also be a wet and cold for Durban and Pietermaritzburg, peaking at just 19°C.”
