Confirmed: SA anthem singer for Springbok game at Eden Park

After starting the Rugby Championship with two games against the Wallabies in South Africa, the Springboks will switch home ground advantage for the hostile environment of Eden Park, and as always the excitement will increase from the second the anthems are performed.

The Springboks will not only need to overcome a dangerous All Blacks side at their Auckland fortress, but there is no doubt that a largely partisan crowd will favour New Zealand and add to an incredible occasion both before and during the game.

In New Zealand, there is generally a unique approach to the national anthems, which are traditionally not sung by an individual singer, while relying on the crowd and players to add their voice to the pre-match atmosphere.

However, support will be provided by the Auckland Pasifika Secondary School Choir, who will perform both anthems this Saturday.

The choir provides a platform for Pacific students in Auckland to showcase their vocal talent and celebrate their cultural heritage through music.

The group’s primary purpose is to celebrate and promote Pacific music and culture. Their performances often include music from Māori and other Polynesian cultures, and they have been praised for their renditions of national anthems and other songs.

The rendition of the anthems will set the scene for an epic battle between the Springboks and All Blacks
