CORONATION Street star Jonathan Howard said viewers are in for a saucy treat with even more steamier X-rated sex scenes.
The actor, who plays bad boy Carl Webster, has been having an affair with his brother Kevin’s wife Abi.

But a few weeks ago, Corrie fans were left gobsmacked when they found out Carl was also sleeping with James behind Abi’s back.
Carl has continued to lead a double life, but actor Jonathan has insisted it’s only a matter of time before he’s caught out.
But before that happens, the soap star teased they’ll be plenty more sex scenes on the cards, saying it’s becoming a running joke on set.
Jonathan exclusively told The Sun at the Inside Soap Awards 2025 about what to expect, saying: “A lot more sex, Carl is definitely going to have a lot more sex, he’s going to enjoy himself.
“His impulsiveness and selfishness is going to catch up with him for sure.
“He’s going to have some confrontations to face the effect of the causes he has made.”
Jonathan joked that the crew has teased him about the number of sex scenes his character has had since joining the show.
When asked if he enjoys filming the racy scenes, he said: “It’s becoming a running joke with the crew, every time I’m in that hotel room, the crew are like ‘who have you got today?’.
“It’s obviously fun, it’s fun to explore that side of my sexuality and that intimacy that you get to have. They’ll be more sexy scenes.”
Carl admitted he’s received plenty of reaction from fans wooing over him after his topless scenes.
He shared: “Lots of great reaction, it definitely gets a reaction.”
Jonathan continued: “In the world of soap, the key is to surprise the audience that have seen everything.
“To have little twists about bisexuality, the reaction we got on Gogglebox and Loose Women, it’s great.
“To surprise audience in the soap world, is the aim of the game.”
ITV viewers have been left screaming at their telly after it was revealed to viewers that Carl was two-timing Abi with James.
Tracy Barlow, who also enjoyed a brief dalliance with Carl, found out about Abi and Carl and decided to blackmail them both.
Carl’s sinister side was exposed when he paid someone to trash Tracy’s florist to get her off their back.
And earlier this month, viewers watched as Carl was seen torching a car after knocking over Tyrone, leaving him unable to walk.
In the latest episode, Carl used his sister Debbie’s dementia to worm his way out after she began to suspect he and Abi’s affair.
Despite a string of bad boy behaviour, Jonathan has insisted that Carl doesn’t actually have “evil” intentions, but is just “selfish”.
“It’s really fun playing Carl, I get to make selfish devious impulsive decisions that I can’t do in my own life, I’m enjoying it.
“I don’t think he’ll be a [full on baddie], I don’t think he’s sinister, I think he’s desperate. I think he’s selfish.
“In the moment, he’s thinking of ways to save his skin and obviously those decisions aren’t necessarily the most moral or good decisions.
“He’s just trying to save himself.
“I wouldn’t say he’s bad or evil or going to be a murderer. He’s just a guy that’s made bad decisions and he’s trying to save his skin.”
Jonathan has revealed that the countdown is on for Carl – saying “all hell will break loose” when Kevin finds out about the affair.
“Yes definitely [Carl will get his comeuppance soon] ! I don’t think he’s going to keep getting away with the stuff he’s doing,” he told us.
“I think Carl is going to cross my brother’s path and I think all hell is going to break loose. It’s all going to come to fruition.”
Last night, Coronation Street swept the board at the Inside Soap Awards – knocking EastEnders into second place.
The ITV soap impressed fans who voted for it to take the crown as Best Soap for the second year running as well as a host of other top awards.
Fan favourites Alison King and Vicky Myers took home the Best Partnership gong for their turns as Carla Connor and Lisa Swain – AKA Swarla.
Vicky also took the award for Best Actress, while Jack P Shepherd won for Best Comic Performance.
Best Storyline also went to Coronation Street for Mason’s death and Abi Webster’s subsequent PTSD ordeal.
