Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has left the door slightly open for late transfer drama.
With the PSL window set to close at midnight on Monday, the Sea Robbers could still make a last-minute statement.
The Soweto giants remain one of the most aggressive clubs in the transfer market alongside Mamelodi Sundowns, but even the Ghost did not expect the 14 signings that have been made so far.
ORLANDO PIRATES COACH ABDESLAM OUADDOU CONTENT WITH HIS SQUAD, BUT…
Second in the league, MTN8 winners, CAF Champions League semis, and still the Buccaneers went all in and snapped up 14 new players, including Oswin Apollis and Sipho Mbule.
Coach Ouaddou says he is more than satisfied with what he already has. “Fantastic mentality, very good human beings, the dressing room is one of the best I have been in since I became a coach,” the French-Moroccan mentor told journalists.
“Very educated players, and they give everything, very good mentality. But now it’s up to my bosses, you know. If they believe that we need some more strength, they will decide as the bosses. I’m here to train the guys that I have, but for the moment, I am happy with the players that I have.
But with a marathon season still ahead that includes the Betway Premiership, CAF Champions League, Carling Knockout and Nedbank Cup, Ouaddou hinted that reinforcements might not be completely ruled out.
“In football, you never know until the last minute,” he said.
In the meantime, Orlando Pirates have played 10 games under the former Fulham defender, with seven wins, two defeats and a draw.
