Devi calls out Afrikaner ‘racists’: ‘I’m staying here’

Investigative journalist Devi Sankaree-Govender has hit out at the racial slurs made by Afrikaner trolls following a recent exposé.

The TV personality – who was recently named a Miss South Africa Top 10 judge – is known for her no-nonsense approach towards those who break the law.

DEVI SANKAREE-GOVENDER CALLS OUT AFRIKANER TROLLS

In a social media post, Devi Sankaree-Govender revealed that she had been called racial slurs by trolls who were white Afrikaner South Africans.

She posted: “Something needs to be said about the abuse I am experiencing on social media. I don’t get to choose the colour of our crooks. So insisting that I am anti-white or anti-Afrikaans is ludicrous”.

Devi  – who has her own show on eNCA – added that “scammers come from ALL race groups”.

She continued: “I have never received this kind of hate from the black, coloured or Indian communities when somebody from their ethnic group is featured”

Devi revealed that she had been called a racial slur aimed at Indian South Africans. She had also been told to “go back to India”.

She clapped back, “I am a fifth-generation South African. I’m staying right here, where I belong.”

‘CROOKS’ TO MISS SA COMPETITION

Devi Sankaree-Govender was recently part of the Miss South Africa judging panel, which selected the Top 10 finalists.

The pageant will take place on Saturday, 25 October at the Sun Arena in Tshwane.
