Grammy-winning rapper Doechii has excitedly revealed her recent purchase of a new home. She did this through a fun and engaging series of Instagram Stories.
The 27-year-old artist, known offstage as Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, shared clips showing her kitchen but kept the location private.
DOECHII’S NEW HOME
Originally from Tampa, Florida, Doechii has called Los Angeles home since 2019.
She opened her Instagram Stories asking fans to “Rate me saying ‘Get out of my house’ in my new house.”
She then posted seven videos shouting playful variations of the phrase.
Each clip included a poll where followers could rate her performances with choices like “Needs more passion,” “Gut-wrenching,” and “Stop posting these.”
HOME DETAILS
Doechii showcased parts of her kitchen with a modern touch, including teal tile backsplashes and open shelves for pots and pans.
The home’s contemporary style impressed fans who eagerly sipped on her latest life update. The new home comes after a breakthrough year for Doechii.
DOECHII’S GREAT YEAR
She won her first Grammy for Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal at the 67th Grammy Awards earlier this year.
Shortly after, she received the Outstanding Music Artist Award at the GLAAD Media Awards.
Reflecting on the year, she told PEOPLE, “Truly, all of my dreams have become a reality, and I feel like I am literally walking in a dream.”
Speaking to her younger self, she said, “Keep going, star. You’re doing good. Keep going.”
A BREAKOUT STAR
Doechii’s momentum continued with a standout appearance at the Met Gala. She wore a Louis Vuitton suit co-designed with Pharrell Williams.
In August, she packed Chicago’s Lollapalooza music festival and announced her first headlining tour, kicking off in October.
