Due to planned maintenance, Eskom has scheduled two eight-hour power outages in parts of Gauteng.
The maintenance is scheduled for Friday, 1 August from 8:00 to 16:00.
ESKOM SCHEDULES TWO EIGHT-HOUR POWER OUTAGES IN GAUTENG
Eskom said there will be an electricity supply disruption in Wattville, Benoni due to maintenance that will be conducted on the distribution network.
“The power outage will affect customers in Wattville in Benoni on Friday, 1 August, from 8:00 – 20:00. The interruption of electricity is necessary to perform essential maintenance on our distribution power lines,” the power utility said.
Similarly, Eskom has scheduled another eight-hour power outage in Winterveld, Tshwane.
The power utility said the planned power cut will affect customers in Bushveld Road, Marivati, Mbobeni, and Mpho Areas and Paving Road on Friday, 1 August, from 8:00 to 16:00.
RESIDENTS URGED TO TREAT ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AS LIVE
In the interest of safety, Eskom said customers should treat all electrical appliances as live at all times during the power outage.
“Eskom would like to thank you for your cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused by this maintenance.”
Additionally, the power utility stated that if circumstances beyond its control arise, the planned electricity maintenance in Benoni and Tshwane may not proceed as communicated.
