With Adidas returning as their kit supplier and the squad embracing a wave of transformation, loose forward Evan Roos believes this season could completely reset the bar.
A new era has dawned in Cape Town rugby as the Stormers officially unveiled their 2025/26 home and away kits and renewed identity yesterday. The change comes shortly after the franchise retired their old logo and unveiled a new, modern one.
RETURN OF THE HOOPS AND STRIPES SYMBOLISES SOMETHING DEEPER
Roos grew up watching the “Men in Black” dominate rugby, and the return of adidas feels like history coming full circle for the Stormers.
“It’s part of our history and tradition,” he said. “Being the first group back with adidas means the world to me.”
The new jersey is crafted from 100% recycled polyester, blending elite performance with a clear message on sustainability. According to Roos, this kit honours the past while pushing the team forward into a new chapter, making every match a symbol of pride and progress.
ROOS ON THE STORMERS’ LOGO CHANGE
The redesigned Stormers logo represents more than just a fresh look—it signals a significant cultural shift within the franchise. Roos explained: “Change is inevitable. We remember our heritage, but we’ve got to push on. This is a new era.”
The updated branding speaks to unity not only within the playing squad but also throughout the entire passionate fan base.
“It’s not just the team. It’s the whole fan base. Everyone needs to stand together now,” Roos added.
This renewed identity is about fostering belonging and rallying everyone behind the Stormers’ mission to ‘make Cape Town smile’.
NEW ERA, NEW CAMPAIGN, NEW STANDARDS AS LEINSTER LOOM LARGE
Pre-season has been physically demanding and mentally intense, but Roos sees the hard work already paying dividends. The group’s chemistry is strengthening as new players quickly buy into the Stormers’ culture of respect, commitment, and toughness.
“We value good people,” Roos explained. “That’s what makes Dobbo special, being a good teammate comes before everything else here. The new guys are good people.”
With players united, coaches aligned, and fans fully behind them, the Stormers aim to launch their most cohesive campaign in years.
“It’s [all the changes] bigger than us,” Roos said. “And that’s why I love it – this team, this city, and everything we stand for moving forward.”
With kick-off around the corner, and a key fixture against defending champions Leinster looming, the squad’s focus and determination are razor-sharp.
“It’s tough, hey? We’re training hard. It’s hot, but we’re fired up. We’re chasing something big this year.”
