A man in his 40s was found dead following a shooting near the Sea Point Promenade in Cape Town.
Police confirmed the discovery was made on Sunday around 07:00 at the corner of Beach Road and Norfolk Road, a well-frequented section of the promenade known for its early morning activity.
According to police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk, officers arrived on the scene to find the body of a male victim lying on a grass patch with an apparent gunshot wound.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
‘Under investigation’
“The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation. A case of death by unnatural causes has been opened,” said Van Wyk.
Law enforcement officials are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in their investigation.

While police have not yet confirmed the cause or motive behind the shooting, eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the man may have taken his own life.
This claim has not been officially confirmed by authorities.
The area was cordoned off for several hours as forensic teams processed the scene.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation remains ongoing.
