Floyd Shivambu: I have NOT resigned from MK Party!

Former uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu has revealed he has NOT resigned from the party and will NEVER do so.

Shivambu was addressing the media in Johannesburg on Thursday and he soon afterwards took questions from the floor.

Shivambu said his removal as Secretary-General of MK Party came as a result of a fake intelligence report presented by the party’s hierarchy.

The said intelligence report claims that Shivambu was plotting to dethrone Jacob Zuma as the party’s president.

Furthermore, Shivambu alleged that he was told of his ‘plans’ to kill certain individuals as a sacrifice in order to take over as MK Party president.

In addition, Shivambu added that there is also a U-turn on the decision to redeploy him to the National Assembly.

He alleges that MK Party president Zuma has a drafted letter which states that he should have his membership terminated.

According to Shivambu, that letter is still with Zuma, and the MK Party founder said he will make it public whenever he feels like.

Subsequent to that statement, Shivambu revealed that certain individuals within the party deliberatly want to see the MK Party deregistered by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

And that is because there are withdrawals of around R7 million monthly from the MK Party coffers by the said individuals.

Above all, Shivambu revealed that he hasn’t resigned and doesn’t plan to, reiterating that joining the MK Party was the best decision ever.

FLOYD SHIVAMBU REMAINS MK PARTY MEMBER, NO PLANS TO RESIGN

“I have not resigned from uMkhonto weSizwe (Party), and I will never resign from uMkhonto weSizwe,” said Shivambu.

“I’m a member of uMkhonto weSizwe. The constitution of uMkhonto weSizwe says that members are not allowed to participate in activities and programmes of political parties whose aims and objectives are opposed to the objectives of uMkhonto weSizwe.”

“If uMkhonto weSizwe believes that it is going will listen to the people who violates the constitution, it will tell me that… that we’ll be listening to people who are in violation of the constitution.

“I will not resign, and I said I will never resign from uMkhonto weSizwe, and I still stick by the decision and the communication that I made that it was the best decision ever to join uMkhonto weSizwe,” added Shivambu.
