A PEDESTRIAN is “suffering life-changing injuries” following a horror crash that saw a car plough into three people.
South Wales Police were called to the scene at Heol Trelai in Caerau, Cardiff, following reports of fighting from locals.
The terrifying incident occurred at roughly 12:30am this morning.
Police believe three people were struck by the car, with one currently in hospital suffering serious injuries that may be life-changing.
Locals reported alleged fighting in the street in the street just moments before the car ploughed into the pedestrians.
A large cordon is currently in place and the road is closed in both directions while an investigation continues.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “South Wales Police was called just before 12.30am this morning, Saturday, September 27, with a report that the driver of a car had collided with several pedestrians on Heol Trelai in Caerau area of Cardiff.
“Currently, we believe that three people were struck by the car, with one person suffering serious injuries that may be life-changing.
“To ensure a thorough investigation, a large cordon is in place around the area with the road currently being closed in both directions between Caerau Lane and Church Road.
“We appreciate the public’s patience as we work to gather more information and progress with our inquiries.”
