House on the set of iconic kids TV show from the nineties on sale for £1.7m – do you recognise it?

THIS very famous house from a 90s iconic kids TV show is on the market for £1.1m – but do you recognise it?

The property is located next to an breathtaking ocean view and was regularly featured in the Australian comedy drama.

Fans may remember the property from television series Round the Twist, which first aired in 1990.

The clifftop house is located just meters away from the famous Split Point lighthouse that appeared on the iconic series.

The show revolved around a family – single father Tony, twins Linda and Pete, and little brother, Bronson – who lived in the lighthouse.

And now someone could get the chance to enjoy the same stunning scenery as the characters on the show for around £1.1m (which is the equivalent to 2.3 million Australian dollars).

Listing agent for Great Ocean Properties Marty Maher said whoever snaps up the house has got it for a steal – mainly because other properties located along the Victorian coast don’t have a clifftop site.

He told realestate.com.au: “My vendor is in her ’90s and it was bought by her husband’s father in the original release so it is certainly pretty iconic.

“The views are just superb, so immediate – everyone just walks in and goes ‘wow”.

“It is comfortable, it’s been a really strong rental, it averages about $50,000 a year, so it doesn’t have to be renovated but it I think cosmetically it could.”

The same family have owned the land that the property is built on for the past 85 years.

The home has some seriously impressive features, with ceiling beams and plenty of natural lighting.

It also includes three bedrooms, one bathroom and spacious open-plan living room.

Marty continued: “There is a little bit of restriction about what you could do because of the sensitivity of the lighthouse,’ he said.

“A lot of people want to go up and put another storey on and we just don’t think that would be possible because of the historic nature of the lighthouse, it would distract from the lighthouse.”

Round the Twist was on for four seasons, the first two airing between 1989 and 1993, and the latter from 2000 to 2001.

In each episode, the kids encountered all sorts of the surreal and supernatural, from a tree spirit that impregnates whoever urinates on its tree, to a magical chapstick that makes every woman fall under your love spell.

CAST REUNION

Last year, some of the cast surprised fans when they reunited for a rare snap.

Stars of the retro series reunited at Brisbane’s QPAC to mark the new stage performance including the three ‘Lindas’; Tamsin West, Joelene Crnogorac and Ebonnie Masini.

Former Bronson Twist star Jeffrey Walker, who joined the show in the second season in 1993, joined in the celebration of the musical.

The former actor went onto direct movies Riot, Lambs of God and nine episodes of Modern Family.

Jeffrey’s directorial journey began in the mid-2000s with episodes of the long-running Australian soap opera, Neighbours.

He has since directed multiple episodes Modern Family, as well as The Big Bang Theory spin-off, Young Sheldon.

The musical is headed up by Paul Hodge and based on the series created by author Paul Jennings.

The weird and wonderful musical is directed by Simon Phillips and produced by RGM’s co founder Garry McQuinn (Priscilla Queen of the Desert).

Tamsin, 50, appeared on one season as Linda Twist and sang the iconic Round The Twist theme tune. After a brief stint on Ramsey Street, she quit acting in 1995.

Joelene Crnogorac, 45, was Linda 2.0 in the second season, but left shortly after.

She went onto star alongside a young Hugh Jackman and Guy Pearce in Snowy River: The McGregor Saga, plus Aussie dramas Ocean Girl, Blue Heelers and Neighbours.

The third and final Linda Twist was played by Ebonnie Masini, 40, for seasons three and four. She went onto appear in Blue Heelers and Shock Jock.

The former actor is now a fashion designer and launched a label, Masini.

The award-winning TV show became a global sensation that was picked up from Sweden to Sri Lanka.
