A WOMAN who ditched rainy Scotland for Greece has shared the surprising positives and negatives of living there.
Jess, 30, decided to ditch the UK for good and move to Greece with her boyfriend, running a souvlaki shop together.

Now, Jess is able to go the beach whatever time of the year it is[/caption]
Taking to social media, the blonde beauty revealed she lived in an idyllic village just two hours from Athens and loves her new life there.
In one clip, she revealed: “First up, which is a pretty obvious one to be honest, is living in the sun.
“I mean, who doesn’t want to spend the majority of the year living in nice weather?”
Not only could she go to the beach every day, but she can guarantee that her laundry will always dry quickly.
She added: “I can get all my washing washed and dried all in the same day.
“I hang my washing up on the balcony and within an hour, an hour and a half maybe, it’s dry and it’s ready for the next load to be hung up.”
“There’s no waiting three to five working days for your washing to dry on the radiator. I swear, back home, I could never ever get my washing dry within a day.”
Despite loving the sunshine and slower pace of life, she said there were some unexpected negatives she didn’t realise would become a problem.
Insects were one of them as she explained: “People might not see this one as a big deal, but for someone who is terrified of every single bug on the planet, it’s a big one to me – so of course, it is the bugs of Greece.”
She also noted that missing home was always on her mind.

“Missing home will be a feeling I feel for the rest of my life,’ she added.
“Not being there physically to see my two nephews and niece achieve everything that they’re going to achieve, seeing all my friends celebrate birthdays or other celebrations and having to miss out on all the other special events that are happening.
“Having to watch everything through a phone screen is very very difficult.
“I even miss things like my weekly home visits to Home Bargains, my late night walks through Tesco, walking through the gluten-free aisle and finding all the new snacks.”
Looking to fully immerse herself in the new surroundings, the social media star is also currently trying to learn Greek as she has no plans to leave.
The video listing the pros and cons soon went viral on her TikTok account @jesss0422 with over 88k views.
Responding to viewers in her comments, she said she has not yet had to use medical facilities.
‘I’ve not had to use it yet, but you do have to pay, it’s not free like the UK,’ she commented.
Moving house hacks
1. Declutter Before You Pack
Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.
2. Create an Inventory
Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.
3. Use Quality Packing Materials
Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.
4. Label Everything
Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.
5. Pack a ‘First Day’ Box
Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.
6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup
Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.
7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items
Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.
8. Colour-Code Your Boxes
Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.
