Bafana Bafana winger Mihlali Mayambela has confirmed that talks between him and the Kaizer Chiefs sporting director, Kaizer Motaung Jr did occur.
The 28-year-old is currently on the books of Aris Limassol in Cyprus. He played a big role in helping his club win their first ever league title in 2022/23 as well as the Cypriot Super Cup.
Speaking on SoccerBeat, the Bafana Bafana star revealed that he a conversations with Kaizer Chiefs about a possible move.
“There was a conversation [about moving to Chiefs], you know the club is also moving in a different direction,” Mayambela said on SoccerBeat.
“You can see with the signings they’ve made now, they’re busy trying to put out a strong team, but also I’m in a place where I don’t need to move if there is no need to move.

“I’m playing every game, I have a big role to play in my team, and I’m respected here, but there’s interest from Chiefs. There were talks between me and the sporting director.
“And he’s doing his job, you can see that he’s trying to build a squad that can compete and bring the glory days. So I don’t know when it will happen, will it happen? I can say yes more than a no. But I don’t know when because it doesn’t only depend on me,” Mayambela said.
Despite Mayambela, Kaizer Chiefs are also linked to several Bafana Bafana players, namely Thabo Moloisane, Elias Mokwana and Percy Tau. The Soweto giants have already signed six players so far during pre-season.
