Jake Quickenden goes for his THIRD hair transplant as he shows off bandages and says pain was ‘close to childbirth’


JAKE Quickenden has revealed the aftermath of his third hair transplant in a candid new video.

The reality star, 37, reassured fans the procedure itself was painless however called the anaesthetic injections “the closest thing a man can get to childbirth.”

The reality star had 1,700 grafts done at the KSL Clinic[/caption]

He added: “They are unbearably painful, but it lasts five minutes then your head’s numb.”

In the video, Jake has a shaved head and points out where the 1,700 grafts were planted.

He admitted prior to the procedure he was constantly preoccupied with his decreasing hair coverage.

“You find yourself checking how many hairs are on your pillow, you run your hand through your hair at night and you get hair in your hands and you start freaking out,” he said.

Jake explained his first transplant at the KSL Clinic was to bolster his hairline, while the second was to cover up a scar on his scalp and the third was to address hair behind his previous transplant as he was getting a ‘Friar Tuck’.

He added: “I’m so glad I’ve had it done. It’s really quick, really simple. I was only there for six and a half hours.”

His Instagram followers had mixed thoughts about it with one saying that they felt his hair looked fine as it was.

Jake replied: “To you maybe bro to me no, constantly adding hair fibres, worrying about rain and wind I wanted it done.”

The Dancing On Ice star shared details of his recovery plan, explaining he can’t go to the gym for two weeks or shower for five days, and he must sleep sitting up for 10 days.

Jake is due a rest after a busy year that saw him compete in massive endurance race.


He took part in the Yukon1000, the longest survival paddle race in the world.

Despite planning meticulous planning and training, Jake and his teammate Matt were forced to pull out from the competition following a series of unlucky events including an arm injury.

He said at the time: “So gutted…”

“Started well, got intro trouble, set back off got into more trouble!! Sometimes you have to remember you have kids and it’s best to not push when luck isn’t on your side.”
