Janice Dickinson makes new bombshell claim against ITV as she sues over I’m A Celebrity injury

JANICE Dickinson had to take a course of RABIES injections after her I’m A Celebrity South Africa fall – and ITV refused to pay for it.

It’s one of the bombshell claims the legendary supermodel will make as she sues ITV after her jungle tumble on set in 2023.

Janice, 70, fell while walking to the loo in the middle of the night and had to quit the series after suffering serious head and facial injuries.

She has now launched a £700,000 lawsuit against the programme makers ITV Studios.

The Sun can now reveal an explosive detail of the case will cover how Janice was forced to take a series of three injections against rabies, which ITV initially refused to cover.

A source said: “ITV Studios refused to pay for the treatment at first as they said they would only cover what they deemed were the essential medical bills and not was considered ‘personal care’.

“Janice’s husband is a doctor and he had a showdown with bosses.

“It will be part of Janice’s case against ITV Studios at London’s High Court.

“It also raises concerns as to whether the other campmates were aware of the potential exposure to rabies and whether they should’ve received vaccines.”

Janice’s legal team at celebrity lawyers Taylor Hampton will argue that ITV is legally liable to pay compensation.

A source said: “Janice is looking for a substantial sixfigure sum from ITV. It’s taken a very long time to come to terms with what happened to her.

“The incident was awful at the time and it took four months for her to recover physically.

“But she still lives with the effects of what happened now. It still has an impact on her day-to-day life.

“This is what spurred her on to take legal action.”

Janice brands herself as the world’s first supermodel and counts Rambo actor Sylvester Stallone among her exes.

South Africa was her second time on I’m A Celeb, having appeared in the Australian jungle in 2007. Her personal injury claim was filed last week.

Insiders have said the case is being brought after new information emerged.

It is believed a nightlight in camp was not switched on, which may have contributed to Janice’s tumble

No further details have been released and a court date is yet to be fixed. ITV has declined to comment.

But producers fear her claim could trigger further action by other stars who endured traumatic trials and high-risk stunts on the show.

They could include former Neighbours actress Kimberley Davies, who cracked a rib jumping into water from a helicopter in the 2005 series.
