Kaizer Chiefs have given the latest update on three of their defenders ahead of the Richards Bay match.
Amakhosi host the Natal Rich Boys at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening in a Betway Premiership clash. With head coach Nasreddine Nabi still in his home country over a family emergency, his assistant Khalil Ben Youssef has taken over.
The young coach has given an update on Given Msimango, Rushwin Dortley and Zita Kwiniak.
“I think with Dortley, he keeps working with our medical staff. They did a very good job with him,” Ben Youssef told the media.
Kaizer Chiefs to welcome three defenders from injury
“Soon, I think few weeks, he will be back with us, he and Given [Msimango] will start training sessions with the team. I think last season, it was tough for us when we finished the season. We finished, let me say the last three games without a defender on the bench. Given was injured, Zitha [Kwinika] was injured, and Dortley was injured, then we promoted Aiden [McCarthy] to play the last two games.
Kaizer Chiefs are yet to concede this season, having kept two clean sheets so far.
“This season we start with Given and Dortley out, for sure, when they will be back, they will help the team with the experience they have, and also with confidence. They will fight for this position now. I think Aiden with [Inacio] Miguel, they perform very well, Zitha is coming, he is ready.
“Now they will be back, and it’s confidence. And we know when we have a lot of players, the level of the players begins to increase,” Ben Youssef concluded.
Kaizer Chiefs have signed eight players so far this season.
