Kaizer Chiefs have not just signed players this season; have Amakhosi built an army?
The arrival of Khanyisa Mayo has topped up Nasreddine Nabi’s frontline options to a staggering 15 attackers, enough to fill more than an entire matchday squad on their own.
For Kaizer Chiefs fans, this is a dream scenario. Amakhosi haven’t always been spoiled for choice up front in recent years, but the arrivals in this window change the picture completely.
KHANYISA MAYO MAKES IT 15 ATTACKERS AT KAIZER CHIEFS
The former CR Belouizdad, Cape Town City FC and Richards Bay FC, can play as either a striker, right or left winger, making him three players in one.
What it means for Nabi is flexibility. Kaizer Chiefs can now line up with pace, power, trickery, or pure finishing, depending on the occasion.
Players like Pule Mmodi and Ashley Du Preez bring speed, while the likes of Gaston Sirino and Ethan Chislett offer creativity. Add Mayo’s proven goalscoring record, and suddenly the Glamour Boys have options to hurt any defence in the Betway Premiership.
Here’s the full list of attacking players now at Nabi’s disposal:
- Ashley Du Preez
- Asanele Velebayi
- Etiosa Ighodaro
- Ethan Chislett
- Flavio Silva
- Glody Lilepo
- Gaston Sirino
- Khanyisa Mayo
- Luke Baartman
- Mduduzi Shabalala
- Mfundo Vilakazi
- Naledi Hlogwane
- Pule Mmodi
- Tashreeq Morris
- Wandile Duba
Fifteen attackers. One coach. And a fanbase desperate for silverware. The challenge for Nabi now is to mould this firepower into a fluid system that delivers goals, points and, ultimately, trophies.
