Maart is joining SV Reid.

Meaning, Nasreddine Nabi and Amakhosi management must appoint a new captain.

A couple of natural-born leaders such as Inacio Miguel, Zitha Kwinika and Brandon Petersons names have all been linked to the Chiefs captaincy.

However, Petersen and Kwinika are both not guarenteed starting spots in Nabi’s team next season.

Therefore, Miguel is the favourite to take over the Chiefs captaincy. He has lead Amakhosi during their tour of the Netherlands.

NEW COACHES SPOTTED, EX-COACH LINKED

Chiefs technical team looks a bit different in Europe.

So, whilst Nabi is still at the helm. One his technical team members were left behind in South Africa when Amakhosi jetted of to The Netherlands. Whilst, a few new coaches were spotted in training.

Strenght and conditioning coach, Majdi Safi has been left at home following links to African giants, Wydad Casablanca. Performance Analyssts – Vaughan Coetzee, Yu-sha Said and Mark Davy are the new technical team members curently working with Amakhosi.

Meanwhile, as reported on The South African, Chiefs want to bring back former head coach Dillon Sheppard to the senior technical team.

“That’s the plan. The club is believed to have spoken to the senior technical team about his addition and apparently all parties agreed that it’s a good idea, mainly in assisting with the local players whether young or experienced stars. So that’s the position right now,” the insider stated on SNL.

Furthermore, he could take up a hybrid coaching role at Chiefs next season.

“The arrangement is that he would be with the senior team during the week, and when, and if the DDC is playing, then he will be with them. You know most of the time coach Vela Khumalo is with the Under-17 national team and in September they are going to the FIFA Under-17 World Cup so coach Sheppard will still be coaching there (in the DDC) as well. Apparently that’s the arrangement as things stand,” he added on the same publication.
