Nkosingiphile Ngcobo knows the weight of the gold and black jersey. The midfield maestro has urged youngster Luke Baartman to trust his natural game while working on areas that still need polishing.
Speaking at the Amakhosi Village, Ngcobo praised his new teammate’s ability, saying the pressure is normal, but his talent will shine through if he stays focused.
Mduduzi Shabalala echoed those words, stressing the importance of staying true to himself. The 20-year-old attacker, also a graduate of the club’s academy, encouraged Baartman to play with heart, ignore outside criticism, and always give his best in training and on match days.

“I think we have had a few sessions with him,” Ngcobo said. “Firstly, I would say he is a great player.
“I think he needs to play his normal football and improve his game in all the areas where he needs to improve.
“The pressure that comes with playing for a big team like Kaizer Chiefs is natural, but I believe that with the talent he has, he is going to do well for the team.

Shabalala added: I think Luke is also a good player and a good signing for us. He is going to help us a lot.
“What he needs to do is focus on himself and always be himself at training and on the field. He must also play with his heart, and he must not listen to what other people say about him. He must do his thing and close out the noise from outside,” Shabalala concluded.
