Kaizer Chiefs news: Flavio Antonio da Silva

A section of Kaizer Chiefs fans have written off the striker Flavio Silva after just a couple of practice matches in preseason.

The strange chatter prompted the club’s leadership to address this judgment directly, as the club’s Head of Marketing, Jessica Motaung, stepped forward to calm the waters.

Motaung reminded the public that pre-season is exactly the time to manage player fitness and that no judgment should be made before the new striker gets enough time to show his readiness.

Motaung also reminded supporters that patience and trust are essential, especially when integrating new or recovering players into the team.

“Look, Flavio has joined us at a certain stage of pre-season,” Motaung said. “Everyone is in different phases of their preparation, and he’s on schedule with where he should be.”

Acknowledging the concerns, Motaung continued, “We want to make sure we do things right, not rush him back. He’s getting the right treatment, training and monitoring. By the time competitive matches start, you will see him ready. There’s no need for people to worry now.”

Finally, Motaung said: What we need from everyone—fans, media, club—is time and patience. He’ll show what he can do when everything comes together.”
