For quite some time, there have been question over what the future might hold for Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro, and it’s now reported that the 24-year-old will be heading to Kaizer Chiefs after weeks of being linked with Amakhosi.
With the transfer window drawing towards a close, leading football journalist Mazola Molefe has reported that Chiefs have secured the signature of Ighodaro.
The talented striker spent the past season at AmaZulu FC, scoring six goals in 27 games.
It was also his fourth loan spell from Mamelodi Sundowns after previously experiencing stints at the University of Pretoria, Chippa United, and SuperSport United.
It will now be interesting to see how he is deployed at Chiefs, and whether some more regular game-time could see him reach his full potential.
Interestingly, he is now also eligible for South African permanent residence, which would allow to feature on the books of Kaizer Chiefs as a non-foreigner.
