Kaizer Chiefs want to let bygones be bygones. This former coach and player are both on their radar.
Kaizer Chiefs have big plans underway ahead of the 2025/26 PSL season.
To date, Amakhosi have signed SIX new players. Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, Siphesihle Ndlovu have all joined the Soweto giants. Whilst, FIVE players have already left and FIVE more Chiefs players are heading out of Naturena. However, there are even more moves lined up – the coaching box and the playing squad.
CHIEFS PLAN TO BRING COACH BACK TO THE FIRST TEAM
As reported on The South African, Chiefs want to bring back former head coach Dillon Sheppard to the senior technical team.
“That’s the plan. The club is believed to have spoken to the senior technical team about his addition and apparently all parties agreed that it’s a good idea, mainly in assisting with the local players whether young or experienced stars. So that’s the position right now,” the insider stated on SNL.
Furthermore, he could take up a hybrid coaching role at Chiefs next season.
“The arrangement is that he would be with the senior team during the week, and when, and if the DDC is playing, then he will be with them. You know most of the time coach Vela Khumalo is with the Under-17 national team and in September they are going to the FIFA Under-17 World Cup so coach Sheppard will still be coaching there (in the DDC) as well. Apparently that’s the arrangement as things stand,” he added on the same publication.
EX-AMAKHOSI PLAYER LINKED WITH NATURENA RETURN
Former Chiefs player, Lebohang Lesako has caught Amakhosi scouts and recruiters attention.
“Some Chiefs scouts and recruiters have been following his progress. They know him already as he is their former player and they are happy on how he has progressed from where he was before to where he is this season. He has shown growth both as a player and as a person and that’s what makes them happy with his progress. They are believed to have enquired about him as they have shown interest in him,” the insider told SoccerLaduma.
So, Amakhosi are keen to bring him back to Naturena.
SHOULD CHIEFS BRING SHEPPARD BACK TO THE FIRST TEAM COACHING STAFF? SHOULD THEY SIGN EX-PLAYER LESAKO OR NOT?
