KwaZulu-Natal dampened by drizzle, mist and cloudy skies

Parts of KwaZulu-Natal residents woke to overcast skies, fog patches, and drizzly conditions in several areas.

“It’s going to stay fairly wet for a good part of the day,” said Joel Guy, a forecaster.

Some areas also experienced misty conditions, reducing visibility for morning traffic. Drizzle is expected to persist into the evening, particularly in Margate and the surrounding south coast.

Drizzle in other parts, mild in other parts

Despite the drizzle, temperatures remain moderate. Durban’s peak will be 21°C, while inland areas such as Pietermaritzburg will reach the upper teens.

“We are not seeing extreme cold here, but the cloud cover will keep things cooler than usual,” Guy explained.

Northern parts of the KwaZulu-Natal will experience slightly warmer, partly cloudy weather by late afternoon.

Western Areas See Some Sunshine

Western KwaZulu-Natal may escape the persistent drizzle, with partly cloudy conditions forecast later in the day. Guy said this will be short-lived as more cloud and light rain return midweek. Coastal winds remain moderate, but forecasters are monitoring for possible stronger gusts later in the week.
