LATEST | Bail plea for DJ Warras murder accused postponed

The bail application of Victor Majola, the man accused of orchestrating the assassination of popular DJ Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock, has been postponed to Monday, 26 January.

The postponement follows an attempt by the defence to introduce additional evidence, including CCTV footage that has been circulating on social media and allegedly shows events from the day Stock was killed.

Denied the request

However, Magistrate Annelise Thlapi denied the request, raising concerns about the authenticity and reliability of the video material.

The court noted that the footage may have been tampered with or edited, and therefore could not be accepted as credible evidence at this stage of proceedings.

“The case is postponed to the 26th of January 2026 for court judgment. You remain in custody,” the magistrate ruled.

Background to the Case

DJ Warras, whose real name was Warrick Stock, was shot and killed on 16 December 2025, outside a building in the Johannesburg Central Business District.

The killing sent shockwaves through the local entertainment industry and prompted a swift police investigation.

Majola was later arrested and charged in connection with the murder, with the state alleging that he played a central role in orchestrating the attack.
