With rumours of interest from the cash-rich Saudi Arabian region, there’s no way Chiefs could have matched the wages offered up by even the poorest clubs in the Gulf. Mayele’s profile and stock are also as high as they’ve ever been after he won the CAF Champions League. This means he’s got a long line of suitors from which to choose.
