The Springbok centre pairing of Jesse Kriel and Damian de Allende will extend their record of playing the most Tests together in midfield to 39 against the All Blacks on Saturday, 6 September.
The duo were selected to start in the 12 and 13 jerseys by coach Rassie Erasmus on Thursday.
In addition, Kriel will skipper the side.
It’s a record that’s unlikely to be broken any time soon.
The only other combination to have played at least 10 Tests together where both players are still active, is the pairing of Damian de Allende and Lukhanyo Am with 28.
Kick-off at Eden Park in Auckland is at 09:05 (SA time).
