Logo swap for iconic fashion brand Lacoste

Swapping a predatory crocodile logo for a tardy goat. That’s what the celebrated French fashion brand Lacoste has done.

And, they have done so in honour of their brand ambassador, Novak Djokovic. Lacoste has changed their swanky crocodile logo this month to that of a goat as a temporary measure.

The renowned Lacoste crocodile logo has been in existence for 92 years.  Lacoste decided to give its croc a break while the US Open is underway this August. The new logo is not just any goat, but THE GOAT (Greatest of All Time), a representation of Djokovic’s prowess on the tennis courts.

Lacoste logo change celebrates Djokovic’s success

Lacoste’s brand ambassador since 2017, Djokovic has won 24 Grand Slam titles and secured four US Open victories throughout his career.

Logo adjustments for fashion brands can be risky business, but Lacoste believed the Serb’s illustrious tennis career warranted an honour of this sort.

The logo swap entails a re-branded limited edition collection of polos, caps, jackets, and T-shirts featuring  the green goat logo.

According to the Times of India, the collaboration between the tennis star and the notable fashion brand signifies “a perfect match, the Serb’s unshakable focus and longevity mirroring Lacoste’s own legacy of elegance with bite.”

Fans have reacted positively to this bold move by Lacoste. Their comments on social media include:  “Fully deserved.”
Another said, “This initiative is amazing. Well deserved.”
“Fully deserved, Novak is the GOAT of GOATS.”
“Well deserved.”

Some fans expressed eagerness to buy the limited edition clothing line, with one saying, “take my money”.
