ITHUBA, operators of the National Lottery, have confirmed that the lucky participant who won the recent Lotto jackpot of over R41 million has come forward to claim his winnings.
The win came from Draw 2571 which took place on Wednesday, 27 August with the winning ticket purchased through the Capitec banking app using a R30 wager and manual selection method.
The winning numbers were 3, 11, 17, 28, 44, 52 and the Bonus Ball was 48.
The unnamed winner shared his excitement about finally striking it big, revealing that he plays various National Lottery games up to four times a week.
“I mix it up with different numbers, selecting them randomly,” he said.
“My biggest win before this was R303 in other divisions, so this is a life-changing moment!”
The winner discovered he won the jackpot when he checked the results online – a moment he described as emotional.
“I cried tears of joy, I have always dreamed of winning!”
He admitted that he hasn’t shared the news with anyone yet, but he’s already envisioning a better future.
“I’m planning to buy my dream house and car – things that would have taken me a lifetime to accomplish, I can finally afford them now and that brings me such peace of mind,” he said.
ITHUBA CEO, Charmaine Mabuza congratulated the winner, saying, “We’re always thrilled to see dreams come true.
“We hope he enjoys the comfort of his new life and all the opportunities his multimillion status brings.”
The winner also hinted at exploring charity work once his financial priorities are in order.
“After securing my future, I’ll definitely consider giving back,” he added.
