MARRIED At First Sight UK star Georges Berthonneau has said that his ex Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu broke his heart when she got into bed with another man on national television.
Georges shot to fame on the hit E4 series in 2023 when he walked down the aisle and married Peggy Rose Lawrence, whom he split from in February 2024.

Months later, Georges claims that he was in a relationship with Ekin-Su, with their romance playing out from April 2024 until the start of March 2025.
Ekin-Su previously denied her and Georges’ relationship ever being serious, and her rep insisted back in April this year: “Ekin was upfront with Georges about her intention to pursue a new relationship on Love Island.”
Head over heels with the stunning Love Island star – who won the show in 2022 alongside then-partner Davide Sanclimenti – Georges supported her and waited for her while he claims she headed into the Love Island villa to further her television career.
Everything came crashing down for him as he watched Love Island All Stars – shocked at what he was witnessing as his girlfriend got into bed with Curtis Pritchard.
Opening up about how their split affected him, Georges says: “She f**ked me up. I went to therapy. She broke my heart.
“She proper messed me about, didn’t apologise – not a nice person.
“Kept me for herself, just to heal her, and then left me and tossed me to the side.
“And I knew her and Curtis wouldn’t last long. I knew he’d see through. I knew he’d see the real her. But, you know, she’s a cheat.”
Georges continued: “She f**ked another dude on national TV, or the night afterwards when she could have waited, you know?
“You could have waited 24 hours and rang me.
“Instead she wanted to just label herself as a cheat, so it’s cool. She can do what she wants.”
Speaking of the better place he is in now, Georges says: “I don’t care, I’m over it, I’ve healed. I’m in a better place than when I met her, and I’m so glad.
“I wish her all the best in her pursuit for Hollywood, and I’m sure she’ll do great.”
Georges also detailed how he turned down a lucrative television opportunity because of Ekin-Su.
EKIN-SU is reality television royalty after shooting to stardom three years ago on Love Island.
Because of the way in which she found fame, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has had two significant relationships from her reality television stints.
Her first was with Davide Sanclimenti after winning Love Island in 2022. Though the pair called time on their romance in January 2024.
She then entered Love Island: All Stars in 2025, forming a relationship with fellow show alum Curtis Pritchard. Together, the pair placed third.
She also had a pre-show bond with Georges Berthonneau from Married At First Sight UK.
When asked if he had been asked to go on any other TV shows since his MAFS UK stint, Georges revealed how American reality show The Challenge approached him.
” I turned it down because of Ekin,” he confessed.
“I turned it down, because Ekin was still on Love Island at the time.”
Despite all of his heartache, Georges remains a positive person and strives to continue being genuine in a space which is less than, and he is sure he will find his perfect match sometime soon.
Taking a swipe at both Ekin and Peggy, he tells us: “I’ve learned a lot, and I’ve got rid of some women out of my life, because they started to show similar trends to the two girls that I learned a lot from.
“And I’ve said to myself, there are thousands of beautiful women out there. So… If you want to be a d**khead, that’s fine. Be a d**k.”
Georges believes he’s a good catch, insisting: “I’m not the best-looking dude in the world, and I’m okay with that.
“But I can hold a conversation, I’m really f**king interesting, I’m unapologetically myself, and I work really hard, and I will give you all of me.”
He adds: “We’re all damaged at the end of the day, we’re all damaged goods.”
