The performance of the South African national anthem by New Zealand’s Signature Choir at the Springboks vs All Blacks game has been described as something out of a “Disney movie”.
The game took place at Wellington’s Sky Stadium. This marks the second consecutive clash between the rugby rivals.
SPRINGBOKS VS ALL BLACKS: NEW ZEALAND CHOIR NAILS NATIONAL ANTHEM
On social media, South Africans praised New Zealand’s Signature Choir for their stellar performance of Nkosi Sikel iAfrika.
Like the Auckland Pasifika Students Choir, which sang the national anthem last week, the Kiwi group of singers nailed the pronunciation of South Africa’s official languages.
Here is what a few had to say…
@zarsmaria: “Another weekend of my dad crying when the national anthem is sung”
@Amma88: “That national anthem was so well sung, it looked like it had a South African almost in tears.”
@sixtwosplit: “Anthem was giving Disney movie”

PROMOTING INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES
Formed in 2018, the Signature Choir was created to promote and nurture New Zealand’s indigenous Pacific languages and culture, merging traditional customs with world-class orchestras.
