Match official changes for Springboks’ Tests against Argentina

The Springboks are heading towards two decisive Tests against Argentina in pursuit of the Rugby Championship title, and there will of course be a big focus on the officiating over the final two round of the competition.

This Saturday’s Test in Durban will be refereed by experienced Australian Angus Gardner, while countryman Brett Cronan will be the TMO, but there will be a change when it comes to the Foul Play Review Officer. World Rugby has confirmed that Gianluca Gnecchi (Italy) will replace Damon Murphy (Australia).

For next weekend’s Springboks-Argentina Test in London, there will also be a change as Eoghan Cross (Ireland) replaces Christophe Ridley (England) as assistant referee for his first appointment in the Rugby Championship.

Meanwhile, in the Bledisloe Cup, Karl Dickson (England) will now act as assistant referee for Australia v New Zealand in Perth on 4 October, replacing Pierre Brousset (France).
