More seasonal flights to Cape Town starting this October

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has unveiled its Northern winter schedule for the 2025/2026 season, set to run from 26 October 2025 through 28 March 2026.

The new timetable is designed to meet the needs of both business travellers seeking reliable connectivity and leisure travellers eager to explore long-haul destinations during the winter months.

One of the highlights of the schedule is an increase in flights to Cape Town, reflecting growing demand for travel between South Africa and Europe.

KLM adds more flights to Cape Town

For the upcoming season, KLM will boost its frequency from 10 to 11 flights per week, offering passengers even more flexibility and choice.

According to the airline, flights will continue to depart Cape Town daily at 23:45, ensuring convenient overnight travel to Amsterdam and onward connections across KLM’s extensive European and international network.

In addition, there will be an extra morning departure at 08:00 on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays, giving travellers four weekly daytime options.

More frequency from Norse Atlantic this summer too

In similar news, Norse Atlantic Airways also recently announced a major expansion of its London Gatwick–Cape Town service, with flights ramping up to six per week.

The route, first launched in October 2024, has proven hugely popular, with demand quickly outstripping expectations, prompting Norse to extend its seasonal schedule and increase flight frequency.

What began as three flights a week grew to four earlier this year, and now up to six weekly services are set to take off.

Even more significantly, the seasonal route will now stretch well beyond its original window. Instead of ending in April, flights will continue through May 2026, beginning on 2 October 2025.
