My hair was giving Helga from Hey Arnold so I asked ChatGPT for a glow up, people say the change is ‘absolutely perfect’

THERE’S no better feeling than leaving the hair salon with a new style and a new sense of confidence.

One woman had just this experience after her glow up inspired by ChatGPT.

Whether you’re looking for a bold new colour or a dramatic cut, it can be daunting to take the leap when you sit in the chair at your hairdresser’s.

For one woman, change was more than welcome but she didn’t know the best way to go about it.

TikTok user Bambi (@bambidoesbeauty) showed her 640,000 followers what her locks looked like before she headed to the salon.

Helga hair

“Right now, I’m giving Helga from Hey Arnold,” the influencer captioned a selfie.

While Bambi’s hair was quite the cartoonish yellow of the iconic animated bully, it was a little too bright for her taste.

She decided to consult AI for the best colour match before her hair appointment.

“Let’s dye my hair the colour ChatGPT thinks is the most flattering,” she wrote in the clip.

AI advice

After sharing images of her hair with the AI platform, Bambi received some suggestions about the best colours to opt for.

While ChatGPT suggested shades such as “cool blonde or ash tones” to tone down redness and complement cool undertones in her skin, another recommendation won out.

Bambi decided to dye her hair a buttery blonde, which AI said “adds a soft, natural glow, and works beautifully with your eye colour”.

The TikToker joked that she was testing her colourists patience by asking for her hair to look “lighter but darker, blonder but not more blonde”.

After hours in the salon and an “existential crisis at the wash basins”, she updated her followers, telling them the progress was “looking promising”.

In her final picture, Bambi shared the finished look, joking “ChatGPT said it was time for a glow up so I followed orders”.

“The result, not to butter my own muffin but I think butter blonde is my colour,” she wrote.

Bambi’s followers shared their thoughts on the transformation in the comments section.

“The colour is so you, absolutely perfect,” wrote one person.

“OMG, this was the move,” agreed another impressed viewer.

Hairstyles that are kind to your locks

  1. Loose Braids: Opt for loose, soft braids rather than tight ones to minimise tension on the scalp and reduce breakage.
  2. Low Ponytail: A low ponytail is less stressful on your hair compared to high, tight ponytails. Use a fabric-covered hair tie to avoid snagging.
  3. Messy Bun: A relaxed, messy bun can be both stylish and kind to your hair. Avoid pulling your hair too tightly and use gentle hair ties.
  4. Soft Waves: Embrace your natural texture or use heatless methods to create soft waves, reducing the need for damaging heat styling tools.
  5. Half-Up, Half-Down: This style keeps some hair pulled back while leaving the rest down, reducing the strain on your scalp.
  6. Headbands and Scarves: Using headbands or scarves can keep hair out of your face without causing damage, and they can be quite fashionable.
  7. Loose Plaits for Sleeping: Before bed, loosely plait your hair to prevent tangles and breakage overnight.

“In Chat we trust,” joked a third commenter.
