WEEK 3 in the NFL saw plenty of emphatic wins for the likes of Minnesota, Indianapolis and Washington, while Philadelphia and Tampa Bay left it to the last second to clinch victories in high-scoring games.
BetMGM, who are currently offering new players a unique signup package during the NFL season, already have one eye on this coming weekend – and they expect most of the drama to come during the late window on Sunday.
New customers can unlock £40 in free bets upon completing their registration and then, within seven days, having deposited and wagered £10 on any sports market. Among the free betting tokens are two £10 bet builders, which are a great way to add another layer of excitement to the wall-to-wall coverage.
This week, the sportsbook believes the best of Sunday’s action will come in the later slate of games. Here are three matchups worth staying up for.
Can “Indiana-polis Jones” and the Colts continue to score heavily?
The resurgence of Daniel Jones in Indianapolis has been one of the feel-good stories of the NFL season so far, with the much-maligned former Giants quarterback leading the Colts to three wins in a row.
Particularly of note to those betting on points over/unders, only the Baltimore Ravens have scored more than the 103 that the Colts have amassed so far. Furthermore, the Jones-led offence banked points on 10 straight drives to start the season – setting an NFL record.
Their punter – Rigoberto Sanchez – had also been a spectator until the second quarter of their week 3 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Until then, every drive of the Colts’ season had ended in points or a turnover.
This week looks set to be their toughest test, however, as they travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams – who are among the strongest teams on paper in the NFC and would’ve beaten the Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, but for a blocked field goal in the dying seconds.
BetMGM are giving the home team the edge here, making them a 3.5 point favourite in what could be a highly entertaining back-and-forth battle. The game at SoFi Stadium has the highest points over/under line of the week at 49.5.
Can Caleb Williams follow up his “career day” against the Raiders?
Caleb Williams had the best outing of his young NFL career against the Dallas Cowboys in week 3, throwing for just shy of 300 yards and four touchdowns – including one 65-yard rocket to Luther Burden III. After three games, the Bears’ passing game has noticeably improved with the arrival of offensively-minded head coach Ben Johnson, but their defence has also proven itself to be fragile – giving up 52 to Detroit in week 2.
The Las Vegas Raiders will hope to capitalise after back-to-back defeats have left them two games off the pace in the AFC West. Geno Smith’s performances at quarterback have been mixed so far – he bounced back from throwing three interceptions (and no touchdowns) against the Los Angeles Chargers to throwing three touchdowns and no interceptions against the Washington Commanders.
While BetMGM believe this game has the potential to be one of the highest-scoring, they also predict it to be one of the closest. The Raiders are a mere one-point favourite, while the points over/under has been set at 48.
Two AFC juggernauts collide in Kansas City
Neither the Kansas City Chiefs or Baltimore Ravens would’ve expected to enter this week 4 matchup at 1-2, given their Super Bowl aspirations. The Chiefs got into the win column against the beleaguered New York Giants on Sunday, while the Ravens came up short in another primetime shootout against the Detroit Lions on Monday night.
Having also lost to the Buffalo Bills in heartbreaking fashion in week 1, they’ll be desperate to prove they can take a big scalp here. No one in the NFL has racked up more points than the 111 that John Harbaugh’s men have managed. It’s surely only a matter of time until it translates into more wins.
The Chiefs, on the other hand, are no longer the explosive outfit they once were in the early years of Patrick Mahomes’ career. They now lean more on the defensive side of the ball and rely on Mahomes to operate efficiently with a more limited surrounding cast.
It is perhaps for that reason that BetMGM is giving a 2.5-point edge to the visiting Ravens, while setting the points over/under line at 48.5. They believe that a higher-scoring game favours Baltimore.

The first unforced quarterback change around the league in 2025 has just been made. The Giants will start rookie Jaxson Dart against the Chargers hoping he can spark their anaemic offence into life. Veteran Russell Wilson carved the Cowboys apart in week 2, but in weeks 1 and 3, the Giants have been tough to watch. The Chargers have had no such issues, they enter 3-0 and with Justin Herbert playing some of the best football of his career.
Sunday Night Football this week promises to be box office, with Micah Parsons returning to Dallas just weeks after the Cowboys traded him away to Green Bay. In his absence, the Cowboys have been one of the more porous defences in the NFL. The Packers, with Parsons, have impressed in wins against the Lions and Commanders, but were then humbled by the Cleveland Browns in week 3.
The International Series also gets underway this week, with Ireland hosting its first ever NFL game – the Pittsburgh Steelers are the designated home team, with the Minnesota Vikings providing the opposition. Meanwhile, Washington Commanders fans will be nervously waiting for news on Jayden Daniels’ injury but in Marcus Mariota, they have a perfectly capable deputy – as displayed in their thrashing of the Raiders on Sunday.
