‘Nonsense!’: Andile Mpisane showboats in club debut [watch]

Not for the first time, Andile Mpisane’s showboating antics on the pitch have left many soccer fans rolling their eyes. The son of Mbabane Highlanders AM president Shauwn Mkhize, or MaMkhize, made his debut for the club on Saturday, 18 October.

The club faced off against Manzini Sea Birds, whom they beat 2-0.

Like his tenure at now-defunct Royal AM, Andile  – who is as flamboyant as his mother – was registered as both a player and the club’s chairman.

ANDILE MPISANE SHOWBOATS IN DEBUT FOR NEW CLUB

In a clip posted on Instagram and X, Andile Mpisane, who nicknamed himself “Expensive 10,” is seen showing off in typical fashion.

The son of MaMkhize, who came on as a substitute, is seen passing the ball to his team member before striking a pose on the pitch.

X user @Bongmusa__ tweeted of the video: “SARS saved us from seeing this nonsense in the PSL”

Another, @BongweNkosi posted: “That run, you can see it’s a ‘Mama I made it’ run’. A third @mojalefa_leoli added: “I thought he would take it seriously this time”.

Andile Mpisane reposted the video, and others praising his “skills” on his Instagram Story.

SPECIAL TREATMENT?

According to MaMkhize, Andile Mpisane had no initial interest in playing for Mbabane Highlanders.

She told Andile Ncube on Metro FM in July: “Jersey number 10, he wants to be in the management space now,

“I think all he wanted was to play in the elite league, which he did, he tasted that. For now, I think he prefers to be in the management space.

However, that all changed when Andile Mpisane announced earlier this month, “I’m back”.

According to the club’s patron, Charles ‘Ace’ Jele, Andile has been registered as a player.

He told Times of Eswatini: “In terms of training, he’s doing exactly what everyone else is doing. There’s no special treatment”.

He added of Andile: “He’s a bit behind the others in terms of physical conditioning, but the coaches are well-equipped to manage this. We’re confident that he’ll likely get some game time in the final 30 minutes or so, depending on his progress.

“Once he’s fully fit, he could well earn a spot in the starting line-up. Having him here is a real morale booster”.
