Kaizer Chiefs have delighted its fans with the latest news of the inbound Ethan Chislett.
According to reports, the 26-year-old has signed a 2-year-deal with the Soweto giants, turning down several offers within the United Kingdom. The Durban-born attacking midfielder has bagged 40 goals (and assisted 16 times) in 242 league games in England, during which he’s played for AFC Wimbledon and most recently, Port Vale FC.
The latter released Chislett after league two promotion this year, opening the door for Kaizer Chiefs, who were happy to find him a new home.
Left back inbound?
Another player AmaKhosi are keen on is SuperSport United youngster Neo Rapoo, who also has Orlando Pirates vying for his services.
“Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are both keen to sign SuperSport United left-back Neo Rapoo ahead of the new season,” an inside source revealed.
“His performances as he led South Africa U20 to the Africa Cup of Nations title earned him interest in Scandinavia and the Gulf but sources as Matsatsansa have confirmed Chiefs and Pirates are both seriously after the player who is seen as future senior national team left-back.”
“With Orlando Pirates having released Paseka Mako and the retirement of Innocent Maela, their interest on the promising full-back comes as no surprise, while Kaizer Chiefs are looking to remedy a position that has plagued them in the last couple of seasons.”
This comes after the reported realisation that Fawaaz Basadien is out of the picture. AmaKhosi have longed for the Stellenbosch defender but will be forced to look elsewhere.
